OFFLINE | I like to pick up my favorite food and hygiene products around the house and call the 800 number on the package every now and then. A lot of them have their email or website on the packaging nowadays too!
It is so worthwhile to call/email these companies. We get special coupons and deals when we provide our opinions and feedback, whether it's positive or negative. They want to know who's paying attention. It sets us apart from the crowd

OFFLINE | Ginger Smith Barber says: Did you know that meat department in the stores will discount their meat? I generally only buy this for our family. It saves us money. Plus we get to eat things we normally would not have due to the cost such as steaks etc.
Meredith Leiser says: That's how we get steak and lobster in my home. We also buy the big 5lb rolls of ground beef and cook it all the same day in 1lb batches. Then we freeze the cooked batches for later use. As for steaks, we'll get a big pack and cook up what we want for dinner that night and the rest gets cut into strips and cooked up for later use in fajitas, stroganoff and casseroles. We buy our chicken frozen in 4lb bags and separate it into 4 separate Ziploc bags while they're still frozen, so when we need to thatw it for dinner, we're only thawing one nights worth and not the whole 4lbs.
Sherry Relyea says: oh yes i do my meat shopping towards the end of the week cause it goes on clearence per say how i do mine always a good time
