April 5: Time Slips

I am 14 years younger,
and catch a glimpse of
my garden, today -
2014 on the final day of the savings:

Government warnings
have been issued...
but I cannot heed
what I do not attend to;

There are still:
cherry tomatoes, chives, mint, parsley, sweet peas,
faded from oil to watercolour
  from plump skin to tissue paper;

Worm farm,
Whirligig,
Washing hung limp on two full lines,
Whispers not, the wind;

Long-shelled sea shells,
and sadness -
  even there,
   even now;

We are so far from the sea.
