Hello Everyone and Welcome to the new Facebook based Rover and MG forum for the 75's and ZT's.
If you have wandered onto this page, welcome to the new Rover 75 and MG ZT page for enthusiasts, owners, engineers and people that just love their lcars or the heritage which is connected to the company.
Hopefully this forum works well as the facebook bases will connect to more people and hopefully help more people in the long run figure out, upgrade or just have a chat with one of the many members of this soon to be forum!
Hope everyone finds what they are looking for, I will be writing a few pages on here in the coming weeks and hopefully get this page/forum kick started.
I part own a Rover 75 2001 2.0 Diesel Auto Saloon, with Connie trim level. It is in Zircon Silver with charcoal leather seats with white piping. It also as some extra features like luke warm heated seats and union wheels. I have done many repairs to her and am learning every day about the intricacies of this car and how to not make it upset and make it want to shed parts, but as the motor has done over 118K, I don't blame her. She is a very smooth ride, with great acoustic insulation and a pleasure to drive (so says my flat mate, which drives her and enjoys doing so very much

).
Anybody that has the diesel, If I solely recommend any addition to your diesel Rover 75, I would go visit Seancar and get a 160 Rempa, which will increase your engines BHP form around 116-119 to 155-160 (info from Roverron, unless he spec of the remap has changed and my information is off!

).
if you do go that route I would recommend changing the MAF, air filter, Oil and associated filter, have your injectors checked (and if needed ultrasonically cleaned or replaced), PCV filter, Air intake mod, check fuel pumps, replace the leak back pipe joins with brass ones, get a boost gauge and fit the spring mod to the turbo waste gate or get a spring regulator (links into the turbo actuator pipe work. (all of this can increase your car to 180 BHP, but be careful if you have an old engine as the increased power will wear the engine down quicker and associated transmission parts. We haven't done the turbo upgrades as of yet, but this is on my list of mods to do!
Seancar had done most of the work fixing major parts on my car and doing T4 diagnostics on our car and we have bad a fantastic experience so far and he has been very knowledgable, quick and knows his stuff!
I'm in the process of installing new speakers and amplifier t the front speakers of our car as we have a new stereo (wish it was a naval double din, but it is not and i'm still figuring out how to fix it in the gaping whole in our dashboard. But as i'm a metal worker i'm thinking of cutting some sheet metal and making a custom bracket to fit it, it won't look the best but Rover really didn't want you to install your own double din radio (I wish I got the single din version of our head unit, but its done now, and is very good and sounds great.
I wish my car wasn't such a bland color and was in Royal Blue or one of the monochrome colours, but I guess you can't have everything, and I like this car and the color is only a slight niggle.
My dad had a White Gold Rover 75 Diesel Manual, Connie SE trim, with GPS, Digital IPK, memory seats, solar blind, ski hatch, sandstone interior, with double piped seats, circa 1999. It was a brilliant car I loved it and this why I had to get one myself; so me and my flat mate bought one and though we have had chronic problems with the car, since a couple of months after we brought (100K syndrome), we have never looked back

.
I found my dads car in 2014 and contacted the new owner, to be told that it was involved in an accident with a fork lift when he was picking up something at a building supply center. He had a door completely ruined, but no real damage to the chassis. But the car was written off for the price of a door panel.
He told me the car had just reached 600K and he never had a problem with the BMW engine and only had to replace a few consumables each year and had to replace the exhaust and that was it (I think he had very good luck, but to here it was written off over something so stupid, when he could have gone down a scrappy and got a new door and had it resprayed.
He said the garage cost of replacement was to much and when I said did you do some research through a forum he said he had, but didn't trust people he didn't know and wasn't wanting to take the chance (which is stupid really as I had taken the jump and have saved many hundreds of pounds and learned some very useful information about my car!)
A bit about my flat mate, he made Seans website, facebook page, set up this forum and made multiple graphics for all these different pages and will continue to do technical work on the different pages to make sure that everything goes smooth and sweet! Contact him if you need help, or want a website made for yourself, as he has nearly fifteen years of computer engineering experience, including electrical engineering, programming, web design and graphical projects. I do blacksmithing, metalwork and machine works. I also do woodwork, jewellery, bicycle repair (Cyclo certified), computer repair (CompTia certified). I also am a occasional musician (T.Bone G-6/Key's G-5/BTEC-3/ND-1 sound design and sound engineering) as well and love having the occasional jam, anyway enough about me, on to the forum......
P.S I added stuff about me and my flat mate James, just incase anybody wants help with any other specific subjects, which are not car related (but I do know a fair bit about cars, but i'm not a certified car mechanic or engineer in anyway or form)
