So there you are, standing in DATS with your new Digimon. Its size is 122%; a 5/5. It's an Agumon Classic, your favourite species. You run out all cheerful, ready to embark on a journey to WarGreymon. It only takes you a mere two hours to go from level 1 to 25, when it's time to unlock MetalGreymon.

You head back to DATS quick as lightning to buy some Evoluters. You remember buying them back in October for a mere 125M each from some guy, so you expected much of the same this time. When you reached DATS, looking through the shops, you kept seeing prices of over 200M. You were confused.

"Why is everyone putting their Evoluters for such a high price? What is this nonsense?"

It is then that you realize all the other items you wanted to buy soon were also at super high prices now. Digimon Archive Expansions being sold at triple the price, or Aquatic Data sold at 10M each. Now you're just plain mad.

"What is with all these noobs overpricing items?" you shout. Others agree with you. Why in the Digiworld are people suddenly raising the prices of items?

Well, that's why I decided to make this thread. A lot of you out there are angry at the fact that so many "essential" items are being raised to ridiculous prices you can't afford. I mean, food is already double the price of KDMO food. How can you level your Digimon without Evoluters, or hatch new ones without Archive Expansions?

The truth is, and this may not be what you want to hear, this is perfectly normal in an MMO with an open market economy. The price of items is directly influenced by something called 'supply and demand'. Now, I'm not going to go into details about what 'supply and demand' is, because Google is everyone's friend and he is all too happy to give you links to sites that can explain it better than I, but the basis of it is this:

When things are wanted by a lot of people, the price of them rises as the supply shrinks and people are desperate to get them. When things are not wanted by many people, the price will fall as people try to sell their items quicker.

So now you're thinking, "Okay kid, but how are evoluters in demand all of a sudden? Are you saying Veemon and Agumon are so popular that they actually caused the prices of these items to rise so quickly?".

The simple answer is, "Yes". The two main Digimon of the first two (and most beloved) seasons being released at the same time, one of whom features a sweet couple of items that come with him, and the other who evolves into WarGreymon. Seems like a good enough reason for prices to go up. Before they came along, the newest Digimon was Gomamon, and to be honest, I doubt many people bought him. I see maybe 1-2 Tamers with a Gomamon a week.

To wrap things up before I finish this thread, I'd like to ask you to NOT rage in chat anymore. If you dislike the high prices of items, then I hate to break it to you, but they aren't going to fall anytime soon. Hagurumon was almost as popular as the two dragons, and if they release Salamon / Patamon tomorrow (or any other equally as popular Digimon), it may even get worse.

My suggestions? Either stock up on items the next time the price falls (if it does), buy more Silk and get them from the shop yourself (since Silk prices should and hopefully will never rise) or prepare to grind longer for more Bits to buy these items. Well, you can also just run around with a level 65 Digimon without an evolution past Champion unlocked...

Any more questions about this thread? Ask away. But try not to flame. This is a pretty solid answer, and it makes more sense than, "They charge high because DEY ARE RUDE MEANIE-HEADS WHO WANT TO HURT MY FWEELINGS!!!"
