OFFLINE | In "Teach Like Your Hair's on Fire" Rafe Esquith discusses four teaching behaviors that energize learning:
1. Replace fear with trust - understand fear, teach trust
2. Be dependable - make thoughtful promises so you can fulfill every promise you make
3. Discipline with logic - make sense of rules, be fair, compassionate, and forgiving; connect behavior or actions with correlative consequences
4. Be a role model - arrive earlier than students, attend to students; FB, emails, YouTube favorites, and private texts are done after students leave. Students are astute and know if you cheat on their time.
Do you remember this kind of experience when you went to school? |
