How does the sacrificial system of the Old Testament foreshadow Jesus Christ becoming the lamb of God and a substitutionary sacrifice?

A good example is when Abraham is tested by God to sacrifice his son Isaac in Genesis 22.

Issac was Abrahams only son whom he loved which was the same as Christ.

Some of sacrifices also involved the giving of the first born to God which is a shadow of Jesus.

"For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect" (1 Peter 1:18-19.

The Old Testament sacrificial system involved offering a lamb without blemish.  Jesus was also lamb without blemish, but Jesus' sacrifice is far superior:

"1The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. 2If it could, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. 3But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins, 4because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.5Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me;6with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased.7Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll—I have come to do your will, O God.’”8First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them” (although the law required them to be made). 9Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.11Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God. 13Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool, 14because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy"
(Hebrews 10:1-14).

When God describes Isaac as, "... your only son, Isaac, whom you love," it is the first use of the word love in the Old Testament.
When God says about Jesus, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased," It is the first use of the word love in the New Testament.

What God did not make Abraham do to the son he loved, sacrifice him, God did with his son whom he loved.

Upon going to the mountain to offer a sacrifice Issac says, "“The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”

Abraham's reply is prophecy about Jesus, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.”

And when Jesus died the veil of the temple was rent in two, from top to bottom, showing that we now have full access to the very throne of God, the holy of holies. No more sacrifices are required. Totally cool!

I think using the Group page would work better, I feel this app is slow and would be less frequently visited.
