OFFLINE | anyone seen this movie? the reason i ask is because the trailers seem to suggest that anthony hopkins character becomes possessed, yet i did some research into the father that his role is based on, and he was never possessed. in fact, he became a pre-eminent exorcist, and still holds services out in california. so, are the trailers misleading, or is the movie completely full of ****? |

Yeah, I don't "do" those kind of flicks. I read The Exorcist when it came out. Went to see the movie @ the drive-in with my first hubby when it came out. I spent a good portion of the time with my head in my lap, eyes squeezed shut and my fingers in my ears! Yes, the screaming and such creeps me out too! My husband teased the heck out of me, but I've always been squeamish like that. Anthony Hopkins does "creepy" SO WELL!!! |

OFFLINE | i think the trailer is misleading. doing a little more research, anthony hopkin's character is not based off of the father i previously mentioned. rather, it is his protege in the film who is based off the father. and when i read in a plot synopsis that the exorcist in training is "delusional" and that his mentor is "unorthodox," i get the feeling that hopkins' character is not possessed, but that possibly the devil is screwing with the mind of the exorcist in training, or possibly hopkins' character is trying to teach his protege the difference between true possession, and someone either faking it, or with a kind of mental issue. |
