Why do Most Christians still use the many versions of the King James Bible? Our ForFathers in this Great USA didn't use it......

Thie is Not intended to dis-Credit The king James version, simplt to provoke thought. do your own research. use the Mind God gave you to use. Be sure you are armed with as much of Gods true Word as possable. Unless we can read and understand Greek and hebrew and have access to the original scrolls, then we are dependent on someone elses interpitations. Do all you can do to know as much as possible. not just assume the King James Bible has it all.

Did you seriously just ask people to use their own minds? Lol, you do know that most people are going to have a really hard time doing that, right? It's dang near against the law.

It is my goal to please God, not a Church Doctrine. if the Doctrine is inline with what pleases God, that is great. but I am not into pleasing man or any group. The God I know wants us to be Knowledged. Don't block this out. gather more knowledge when possable.

So if you think the Earlier translation would be a difficult read, here is something to think about........"And the disciples came and said to Him, "Why do You speak to them in parables?"
He answered and said to them, "Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.

Yeah, and people don't look at them as parables. They read the scripture & take it literally as what it says.

I think a lot of the bible's stories are meant to be lessons, which are hidden, such as the story of Adam and Eve and the whale.

I had posted something about the Adam & Eve story a while back in another forum. If I can find it, I'll post it here.

We read NIV and KJV.  I do find it easier to read the NIV to my kids, and sometimes my husband.  But I understand both

Thank you, exactly! If you hve Salvation and Know God, You WILL understand. Those who do not will simply use the Word as it seems to suite them at the time, for they do NOT truely understand.

Not really, Though he did stir me a bit. Maybe a near Death experience did! Not to say it Gave me some grand knowledge, Just woke me, to be Myself and not to try to conform to what Family, Friends and or Church wants me to be.

Seems I found myself saying and or doing what was expected of me by those I am around. Gee, when did i slip into that Sleep. I am Wide awake and Myself now, wheather those around me like it or not, For I am not to Please man but God.

That's good. I always said you shouldn't be putting on a front just to please them. You end up doing what they do even when it's the wrong thing. Tis a bad habbit to have.
