What are some of the best OTC cold and flu meds you've used?

When I have a cold but not so much a heavy cough, I take Contact:

But once the heavy and painful coughs start, then I take Mucinex:

I hate meds and don't take anything for a cold . . . you take something and your cold will clear up in about 7 days. You don't take anything and your cold will clear up in about 7 days . . .

I thought I read somewhere that Coffee, something I consume a lot of, weakens the immune system. When I had a cold in December, I stopped drinking coffee completely while I was sick, and much to my surprise, I felt 100% better in just 5 days. I normally hang on to a cold for weeks. But I'm not sure which was worse; the cold or abstaining from coffee :/
