A well-coordinated battle strategy ensures that all participants are working together for the victory, and not as disparate hack-and-slash mercenaries out to line their own pockets.

Primary Objective
The main objective during any guild battle is to eliminate the opposing ACTIVE players before they eliminate you. In order of importance: Clerics (who can use Heal), Mages (who can use Polymorph), Rogues (who can use Elude to defend), and Warriors.

*We always need MORE CLERICS on our side. If you are a warrior or a rogue, please consider changing to Cleric! We need to get at least 10 clerics per gate to increase our chances of winning.

*Log into chat, or check the lounge battle post to learn WHICH GATE WE ARE TARGETING. It is important to work together to target the SAME gate for maximum damage to the opposition*

Rule 1:  Once you have learnt the gate we are targeting, Eliminate ACTIVES in this order: Clerics, Mages, Rogues, Warriors

Rule 2: ALL ACTIVES MUST be reduced to 0 HP in order to prevent them from using their special abilities. Clerics and Mages Take Priority!

Rule 3: DO NOT attack an opposing player UNLESS you can get a VICTORY.
Why?
Lose to a Cleric, everyone in enemy Cleric’s gate heals at least +10 health (they may have Sanna or another higher healing general in place).
Lose to a Mage, everyone in YOUR gate loses at least -10 health (they may have Zurran or another higher mage-splash general in place).

Rule 4: If you lose to a Cleric, MUST post a note in Chat & Lounge so someone can be sent in to clean house - this is usually a mage (who can hit, and remove the added health).

Rule 5: If you cannot find an Active target to attack for a Victory, seek out INACTIVES in the same order as Rule 1.

Rule 6: If you cannot find ANY target to attack for a Victory, post a note in Chat. You may be assigned to the Zombie Squad. Zombie = No Victory targets left for you. These targets will be Rogues or Warriors (which don't do damage to our gate, or heal their gate). Check with an officer or the GM.

Rule 7: Regardless of which class you select for a guild battle, reset your class to Cleric when the battle is over.
Opposing players tend to steer clear of clerics during a guild battle if they are not sure they can get a win (see Rule 3). If you are attacked, and the opponent loses, active players on your gate will gain +10 of healing.
* Also Non active Clerics make great decoys for the other Clerics in your Gate.

Caveat
All guild battles are different, and our strategy will change depending on how many active participants each side has, and the levels of those participants. Keep your eyes open and following the Chat window to make sure you pick up on the latest change in strategy.
