Hey there!

Not sure if i am writing this post in the right section... anyway, i was unable to reach the support because of the error on the page, so at least i will be heard

I have a T15004 which stopped working. Not sure what was the cause, but now what i have is: power indicator is lit and i can't hear any sound.

I brought to the repair service (unfortunately there is no official Rockford repair service in Moscow) and the guy said the three transistors had gone bad. The model of the transistors is FQA28N15. He said he couldn't find them or an analog in Russia. Moreover, the problem is even worse - these transistors are somehow glued to a "module" which consists of 5 transistors. According to the repair guy, even if he finds a replacement for the ones that gone bad, he will not be able to place them on that module.

So, my question is:
- is it possible to just replace the transistors by somehow gluing them to that module?
- if not, can i buy a separate module with all 5 ones directly from you guys?
- maybe there actually is an official repair centre in Moscow?

Thanks!

Hi Arthur,

I apologize, our support page should say "Online Support will be offline while we perform an upgrade."

The MOSFETs are grouped onto a aluminum substrate called MEHSA or "T-Clad".  It is impossible to de-solder individual MOSFETs secured to the substrate.  In face, we only sell replacements in completed modules (not individual FETs).

Contact our Rockford Fosgate distributor in Moscow, "Russian Game".  If they do not have any in stock, they can order, but thiss will take a while because parts shipments are bundled with container shipments from the US to RU.  Their contact info is available here: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/dealerlocator/distributors.asp?p_search_id=16&country_id=177

Yeah, this would be easier and a right thing to do.
Only if i could buy it directly.

Eric, do you think it is possible? I am ready to cover all the shipping or any other expenses. I just want this monster to start working again.

Arthur,

Can you contact our support department to see what your options are?  I am the moderator and don't have access to the parts ordering system.  You can contact them at http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/support/rftech.aspx

I repair these amps and de-soldering the and re-soldering individual fets from the mesha strips is a piece of cake. I do it all the time. On the T1500-4 you have 6 output fets per channel. 3 FQA28N15 and 3 FQA36P15 I would replace all 6 output fets, and all 6 gate drive resistors, all 6 source resistors, all 6 drivers 3 PZTA56 and 3 PZTA06, there are a few smd resistor near the drivers 22.1 ohm i think 0805 package, and likely the protection circuit will be damaged probably the 3 or 4 smd diodes marked 5D. Just finished one of these a few days ago working on a T30001 right now.

The T30001 has some bad TL072C op-amps as they have so many in series they have big problems with DC off set on the output pins of the op-amps.

Good luck my friend!!!
