Something about your pain -
internal and inflicted,
unwarranted and unwanted,
out of my control -
sends me shopping for chocolate -
in a variety of wrappers, as bright and shiny as I wish your days could be,
under bulk buy special signs, which tell me I can afford to love you as you should be,
outside the margins of our regular shopping or dietary requirements;
Because I want your life to be that Kiwi-est thing -
Sweet as,
No worries, mate -
and I don't know a lower calorie way to effect that.
