I think there ought to be a topic just for Sundays, in case people feel inspired to inspire someone else. Or just share a short poem or reflection. SWR.

Genuflection not mandatory, but tolerated.

I awaken to darkness and quiet
Sunday
I can go walking in half pajamas
because the world sleeps
ignoring movements between shadows
and tall trees
Only the factory shift workers
are alert
and they cannot see me for the darkness
cannot hear me crunching through snow
Sunday
First light has yet to come
already I am at home.

I'm wondering on this cold rainy Sunday evening, while I'm drinking hot wine with cinnamon why you look like you're from Disneyland, and what is a junior member??

yum, what type of wine?  I've only had saki warm, but that sounds like cozy and comfort in a glass

Sarah sarah: there's a thing somewhere on fb that invites us all to change our avatars to cartoon characters from our childhood in support of a movement against child abuse. Though I do not understand how our cartoon avatars assist this cause, I have done it anyway. Look at me as Dumbo...way more appeal than before, etc.

We are all newbs...then we post some more and become juniors. Gypsy has surpassed us all from the other place and become more significant. The more you post, the more you advance. I think you could become really something here, something like Advanced. Or maybe even Captain. Ruler of the Universe.

I'm not sure what the advantages of each stage are though. Maybe you can flirt with singles?

Still Sunday
I've been awake all day
I've been outdoors too
Still Sunday
Only now it's dark again
And I'm back in here, with you.

The best day for a

You fed me sugar and watched
as I grew pale
You pet me gently as I slept
off my hangover
You covered me in blankets
to keep off the chill
You brought me ice chips
for the fever that rose
You buried me beneath the oak
and planted daisies for cover.

specks of snow slide between green and mud
a camouflage of seasons straddle, attack, retreat
cups of coffee snake steam and memories over ghosted glass
you sup, send a shiver and sigh around walls and into corners

your weekend face wears satisfaction like a sunset
clouds of contentment halo your hair and shower hearts
you're a firework sparking blue magnificence
all over the comfort of a checkered cotton shirt

and I sit in the corner, watching and worshipping
those comet capabilities brightening sunday's gloom

You say:

Savoring the moment will be my downfall.

Yet I stay here, still as concrete—
freshly laid, moonlit damp—
and do just that.

What if my hair becomes the net
for the beetles that fly erratically,
and the snails find their trails suit me—
through my hair, criss and cross.

So, I've taken my time just as they have.
How much better that makes them?

I'll spit to show them my trail and
watch it spread, only two inches round.

You say:

Live life by the moment, mutha fucka!

at two hundred miles per hour,
you're flying and I am the yellow line
you wouldn’t focus on.
