OFFLINE | So the DJ Sonicfreak contest is a great idea, however, I had a few issues with a lot of the people who are remixing Sonic. For one, if you are going to be in a tournament, you've got to (as Twe Shellshockr would say) Go Hard, or Go Home. A lot of the tracks weren't really cutting it. I understand it's a rap beat contest, yet the rap beats just loop the sample and slap a beat on top of it and call a "remix." Number two, if you are going to remix great music such as Sonic's, you've got to do more than just loop it and slap a beat on top of it. Do the sample justice, make it your own, and then you will really have a remix. This isn't a call out to anyone, just expressing how I feel about remixing tracks.
Now what are some of your thought's? Let me know how you REALLY feel.

OFFLINE | Was wondering along the forums and I happened see this, so I read it. I wasn't in the contest but I can understand completely what you mean.
Honestly, it should be considered an insult to any real beat maker that someone would come into a competition and just bullshit their beat, I see this most commonly done with trap beats which is why I can't stand them. |
