I agree honey...it's been a LONG 7 weeks.  I cannot wait to go to San Diego and see him graduate.  We are 1/2 way to the finish line.  Jamie, is this your first military experience?  It is for Scott & I and we are learning as we go along.

Yes, this is a first for me also. Looking forward to seeing the mailman, and the Meet/Greet. Stay strong for Plt. 1051.

The mailman is my newest friend Jamie!!!  Our family gets so excited every time we get a letter from Steven.  It is the highlight of our day.  Will be arriving in So. CA 4 weeks from today for our Spring Break and his graduation.  We cannot wait to see Steven.  We have older kids who have left home, but they are still close by...this is tough.   Where are you located?  We are in Washington State.

Hello Jane,    Come on May... My son Caleb Johnson is my oldest child, and this empty nest sure can be rough. We are from Southern Illinois, just can't wait  to be able to start packing.    I am postive that won't take me to long!   :clapping, Counting down those days.

Oh Jamie that must be tough having the oldest one go away like that.  My oldest is my daughter and she lives about 1/2 hour away from me.  I cried the day I took her to college, but I still got to see her all the time.  Today is her day off so she just left.  I think for us the hardest thing is not being able to hear his voice.  Steven's birthday was March 15.  That was a tough day.  My oldest daughters birthday the 16th and my Dad's is the 18th.  We've always celebrated their 3 birthdays together.  So this year when they blew out the candles on the cake I set a picture of Steven on the table with them.  Do you get many letters from Caleb?

We live on the west side of the Mississippi River.  Caleb should be station at Oklahoma for his MOS. It will be a bit closer.  How about Steven?

Me too Jamie.  I see some of the pictures and I wish so badly that I could see Steven.  I'm actually Steven's step-mom but I've been raising him since he was 9.  He has been such a HUGE part of my life for 10 years.  I am having a really hard time with him not being here.  I keep trying to send him positive upbeat letters, but always feel like I end up crying.  That is until the last idea I came up with to make him a custom card!!!  I wish I could be a fly on the wall when he gets it!!!

That's a great idea on the song lyrics.  I'll have to give that one some thought.  We had a couple of interesting news articles today in our local paper.  One a long-time friend of Steven's who in their jr. year of high school was diagnosed with cancer.  For obvious reasons he fell behind and couldn't graduate with his class in June.  He did however, get a special graduation about a month ago and Brayden was in the paper along with an article that had Scott in it too!  So that was my drop in the mail today!

No there aren't any pictures of Charlie Co. 1051 or any other Charlie Co.  They do seem to be posting pictures on the FB perhaps as they get closer to graduation.  If something pops up, I'll be sure to bring it to you attn.  Scott's a little more faithful about reading all the articles so we shall see what we come up with.

Take care...
