 OFFLINE | YouTube was launched.
Hard to believe it's only been that long. Has it changed how you do things?
(That would be a Yes for me.)

OFFLINE | Yes, it has changed how I do things! I love YouTube (combined with hulu) because it typically enables me to find things I missed or to do research as I'm writing. Also, I LOVE music videos and they're so abundant there. A year and a half ago, I was on a Dukes Of Hazard kick {Daisy }, and about 90% of the series could be found there. But because me and some buddies like to exchange our own homemade music videos, YouTube has made that painless. Also, i LOVE 'covers', something else that's in abundance on YouTube. In another thread, it was asked how do you cure boredom; I often seek out Cover videos.
Hulu.com on the other hand, I tend to love just as much. And for many shows, so long as you don't mind waiting 24 hours, you get free video streaming of many popular TV programs.
But it does kinda seem like it's been longer than 6 years. I guess that's due to how much I've used it. |

OFFLINE | One thing I do as a courtesy to those I email; when someone emails me (I use Outlook) large movie files and they're something I might like to forward around, I find a YouTube link for it and only email that link around. This way, anyone else using an email client that installs and downloads files directly to their computer isn't being lagged by 1 to 6 meg movie files. Although this isn't a biggie for people who use web-based email clients like Yahoo, Google, Hotmail, etc. |
