After Gandolf passed away, I couldn't imagine how I would ever find a kitty that I could have the same deep love and bond with as I did with Gandolf.  I prayed a lot that that kind of special cat would come my way.

About three months later, I had this crazy dream.  In the dream the cat was black and white and I was talking to my mom on the phone about this wonderful cat I had adopted.  The next day I had this voice in my head all day that said:  "Go to Pets Mart on North Academy."  I tried all day to ignore it as I didn't feel I was ready, but later found myself in the strip mall and I went inside.

There were many adult cats and I wanted a young one so I could have more that one this time, so I decided the voice in my head was just a silly thought and prepared to leave.  On my way out of the cat area there was this volunteer holding this scrawney grey and white kitty.  I asked about him and was told he was brought by a family who lived in limon.  They had found him in a dumpster and had a house full of animals so need help to find him a home.  He wasn't up for adoption as he wasn't in the program yet.

I decided to get my cat fix and I held him for several hours until the family came back.  When they were told by the volunteer that they would need to bring him up the next week for a check-up so he could go into foster care, they stated that because of the distance and working they wouldn't be able to do that.  I found myself saying "I can help"  I had planned to take him to his appointment the next week so he could go into foster care thinking I still wasn't ready for a kitty.  WHO WAS I KIDDING!!!  He was in my house 20 minutes and I knew I would never part with him.  He is the light of my life.  I call him my divine intervention kitty as I like to think that God and Gandolf sent him to me so that I would not be without that amazing love that Gandolf and I shared.

That's a great story. It's funny how our pets 'choose' us.
