Ok, so of course everyone loves to receive GOOD MAIL!!!!! Not JUNK MAIL...I think the three or 4 of us in the forum can agree with this!!! Today was a little junk mail and two AMAZING letters from my son!!!! He was writing me from class......SHHHHHH as his DI had not arrived yet so he was taking a moment to send us some updates......BE CAREFUL SON.....LOL.......My son says he always feels as if he is being "tested" right now....simply because he is always in situations where one or more of the "leadership" traits that are expected of them comes into play.....more so when the DI's aren't around......He says that it makes him a little paranoid but it is hard NOT TO BE paranoid in BC as you never know who is watching you and where everyone is.....But he says this is all apart of the learning process and will in the end make him a much better Marine....
He has also had a few dreams of back home...although they are funny and they make him laugh, he says that it makes him miss home and miss all of the GREAT TIMES....but he tells ME "don't feel bad Mom....it's all apart of BC.." He says he is very preoccupied at BC a they are doing so much......This Saturday coming up they have Initial Drill then swim week and then off to Phase 2.....which of course he is really looking forward to because they move to CP for 4-5 weeks and they get trained on Survival etc....He also said that the initial receiving when they had to stay up for the 3 days is and more than likely will be the hardest thing in BC....And in my sons own words..."IT SUCKED".....LOL
He has been ITed twice......once for tardiness to drills...(BAD BOY!! LOL) and the first time he said wasn't his fault....He does say that he is getting MUCH Better at Drills....YAY!!!!~
He says that their Plt. 2166 scored the HIGHEST on the "Dummy Grade for Drill" and the real test will be this next Saturday
(5-7)...From his letters he is doing well and again I say adjusting to it all...He says it is a fun environment and that he is making great friends with everyone!!!!! Lets hope that Plt. 2166 can pick up their game, get the drills right and sound off loud and hard!!!!!! It's all about teamwork guys!!!!! That is what matters the most!!!!!! Well, until we meet again.......Keep up the good work Plt. 2166...Ooorraahhhh!!~

Girl, our boys sure know how to make do when they need to!  Aaron told me when he has firewatch (always the first one), that 15 mins before he has to go back to the barrack, he fills his canteen with hot water and then tucks it in with him because  he is so cold!! He said one DI makes them leave the porthole open and it is bitterly cold inside! My boy ain't no dumbass!!

Brenda that is so "smart" and when you think about it funny as well.....Good for Aaron!!! He has first Fire Watch too?????? So does Marquis.....WOW!!! You know that them having first Fire Watch is an earned thing right??? I heard a story from Marquis about FFW to by the way.......What do you mean The DI makes them leave the porthole open??? You mean the door to their barracks???? Damn that is just messed up!!! HAHAHA Marquis hasn't told me any "secrets" like that yet...I might have to ask about that...I have wondered how the guys fair with a sheet and a wool blanket on a single mattress!!! That must suck..... I would say that Aaron is definately no dumbass!! I hope that Marquis is using his head when it comes to stuff like that as well or if he hadn't though tof it himself I hope Aaron shared the info with him!!!!
