OFFLINE | First off, I have to say that the plot is totally predictable but beyond that it is a good movie.
The characters are all so vibrant and yet silly without TRYING to be, that it feels like reality in that way.
While this is a movie for kids, adults will enjoy it as well since it has subtle things that will go way over the head of a child. I can see that this is meant to mimic a old, wild west scenario. So of course it has old people, evil people, injured but still alive, the weird ones that think they're normal, and then where would the wild west be without a busty madam? lol!
The owls of the movie, they're meant to put you into a state of expectations for the movie, but just ignore them or enjoy their music playing, which is all that they're really good for.
The movie is a 4 out of 5 star movie as the sheer silliness of Rango from humble beginnings to hero to legend is an entertaining romp for all ages. I was going to give it 3 1/2 at first but it brought me out of a funk after watching it, so any movie that can do that for me deserves props. |
