I have an old Beagle that I have retired, she was a fare dog for running the snow shoe hairs we have around here where we live. How ever she could have been  a lot better. What do you think makes a good rabbit dog? I think that a beagle is a good choice, but remember the papers is what you put on the floor for potty training. A good rabbit dog ether has it or it dose not. I do know that when you are hunting behind a good one it is a lot of fun, and a joy just to listen to the dog work.
