@Asgar Ali Continued from here...
Quote: [All the heavenly books reveled before Al-Qur'aan were for the particular Ummah of that time. According to the Qur'aan none of the previous books were saved from being corrupted and changed. According to the Qur'aan we are not obliged to believe in the present form of those books. For us the Qur'aan is enough. If certain things in the Qur'aan are different from the previous books, then our job is to give preference to the Qur'aan. If we try to follow all the books then Islam will be in a MESS.]

You are saying that previous holy books that were revealed by allah  before the Quran were corrupt and Quran is the only source of authority.  It's a pretty wishful thinking specially since the Bible is far more accurate historically, scientifically, archaeologically, logically and is an eye witness account for a period of 1600 years.  It is a better tool to engage with skeptics, agnostics or atheists to make sense of the data.

You can not JUST give preference to Quran as it says so.  Reason and evidence is needed as well.  If you validate Quran only using the Quran then you will be violating a basic law of reason know as circular reasoning or paradoxical thinking.  Suppose, you are not feeling and you want to go home from work.  So you tell your boss that you not feeling well and you want to go home.  Now, when he asks WHY you not feeling well, instead of telling him that you drank too much last night, you say that, you are sick because you want to go home.

Circular reasoning is providing evidence for the validity of an assertion, which assumes the validity of the assertion.  General forms include "A is true because A is true" or "A is true because B is true, and B is true because A is true".  Often used as a mechanism to prevent an assertion from being challenged or questioned, or to "win" a debate by sending it round and round in circles.

Examples of circular reasoning:
"I'm right because I'm right."
"There isn't a problem with the rule, because if everyone obeyed it there wouldn't be a problem."
"Piracy is wrong because it's against the law, and it's against the law because it's wrong."
"X is stupid because he's an idiot."
"Quran is right because it is the word of Allah, and it's the word Allah because it is in the Quran."

Quote: [Jesus was a prophet of Allah. There was no need for anyone to baptise him. The word Christian neither exixts in the Bible nor in the Qur'aan. How can you say someone was converted to Chritianity?]

Allah was only a pagan god during the time of Jesus.  Infact quite related to the moon god, that's why no the word Allah can be found in the Bible.  Instead Christianity was known as The Way in the Bible Acts 9:2.  Christianity is not a religion as such, it is a lifestyle.  Unlike Islam with sharia and scriptures.  Islam is more or less a way of governance or a state religion.  We all know a state religion can never work.  As soon as there's a religious dictator the whole system goes corrupt.  Maybe the Mahdi will do exactly the same.

Please read more on the concept of baptism, it existed before Jesus's ministry.  It is more or less a public symbolic indication of repentance where you die to the old and raise up a new creation.

Jesus declared He was God.   John 8:56-58, Matt 1:23, John 8:24 etc.  Jesus of the Bible is God.  Jesus of the Quran is only a prophet...  They are not the same.  Apply the law of non-contradiction...

The Jesus of the Quran is someone else.  Let me know when you find him...

Please lets not just have a dogfight but be educated people of todays' society.  Put our holy books aside and let reason and evidence govern these discussions.  Really, doesn't a faith have to make sense first before it can be believed?  You can't make a blind leap of faith and hope things will be fine.  You can't hope for your salvation  but have to be sure about.  Only Yeshua gives such an assurance.
