Great app loving it so far. Quick question and request. Is it possible to automate the virtual instruments?.  Also any chance you could add a modulation matrix for the synthesiser and multitouch so we can tweak and play the keyboard. cheers guys.

Hi Clint

Adding multi-touch so that virtual piano keys can be pressed whilst twiddling knobs is something I tried to implement at the time of writing. The problem with this is that it had a nasty side effect of not always getting finger up messages to the keyboard and resulted in stuck notes. I will take another look at this sometime, although at the time I put the problem down to an iOS bug.

Automation on Virtual Instruments is definitely something I’d like to add in future releases, especially things like filter cutoff, resonance and effect mix.

Thanks
Tracy

Thanks for the reply tracy,  I can live without the multitouch if it resulted in stuck notes. Yes the synth definitely needs automation.
Also will the synth be upgraded with modulation possibilities, a good synth to look at is the sunrizer synth lots of sonic goodness that one,
Would just prefere to do it all in app. Apart from that I'm an happy customer.

Cheers

Edit: One last request, any chance you will be adding a filter effect plugin in the future?
So impressed with this app.

Hello,
I would like to see a soft quantize option added to the midi editor. Different DAW's call it different things (such as iterative quantize) but it means the notes would be quantized a little less than perfect, usually 70 or 80%, instead of snapping perfectly to the grid. This is critical for tracks like piano where you want to clean up timing but where perfect quantize is unnatural and robotic. Full or hard quantize is fine for electronic music styles but useless for many other styles.

Yea a filter/Res on the virtual sampler and drum machine would be great. Also quantize triplets etc in the midi editor.

Hi! Just started with Meteor. I seem to have added a fade out in the middle of a track and didn't catch it. Is the an easy way to just un-fade?

Hello, I'm a new user, I've have just bought Meteor 1.6 (the base application and the midi editor + virtual instruments package).I've have just play 2 hours with it and here are my first impressions (on my iPad 2) :- nice application, full featured, I love it ! It's amazing to have so much power on an iPad !- global : some views are better on landscape mode, and some better on portrait mode, but it's seems that Meteor have been designed for portrait mode, and that's unusual (espacially if you use a dock like the Alesis I/O dock),- Track view : I'm surprised that when you tap on a midi or audio clip, it is not opened in the midi or audio editor, - no real punch in/out : if you set a loop region, the loop start and end points don't act as punch in/out points,- Virtual instruments : they are simple, but they surprinsingly sound very good. - all : there must be arrow keys to navigate thru presets, the virtual keyboard has no pitch bend wheel (a modulation wheel would be nice too), - analogue synth : the lfo and delay must be syncable to the tempo, the custom waveform is a good surprise, maybe on option to load any single cycle waveforms ? - sampler : very basic, but it sounds good, so..., the delay must be syncable to the tempo, - drum machine : only one output for all the pads,- mixer : sometimes it's hard to use the knobs or faders because the mixer windows is moving when you put your finger on it,- no midi mapping ? - for the transport bar : play, stop, rewind, forward, record, loop, - for the mixer vol, pan ,fx sends, mute, solo,  - for navigating thru presets. They are a lot of things that I have to discover yet : Audiobus recording, FXs, automations, and so on...but for the moment, I love what I see, and it seems that there are frequent updates and bug fixes, so it's good too.

And maybe a bug : there is a menu "browse  instruments" (if I remember well) : when you select a analog synth and the current one was a drum machine, the pads are still visible, no keyboard... and vice versa...

Oh, and maybe another bug : I have recorded my voice on a track, and was unable to replay it : no sound, I have to close and restart Meteor ??!!

Maybe some improvments can be made in the Midi Editor :

- I have already reported this : when you change your instrument with the "browse instruments" (if I remember well) :  the instrument is changed but not the "keyboard" attached to it (so you can have a piano-like keyboard with a Drum machine, or pads with a Analog Synth or sampler. Well, it can be usefull, but maybe it will be better if we can choose what "keyboard" we want to use with the current instrument.
