Hi! This is probably a strange question...but I'm hoping somebody can answer it. Are the seeds offered for sale at Chile Monster Heirloom type or Hybrids? How long can the seeds be stored and still be viable later? Will I be able to get seeds from future harvests to plant again at another time? Just looking at things from a long term range Thanks!

Hi there IronButterfly~ we are just getting our seeds tomorrow from the New Mexico Chile Pepper Institute. You bring up valid questions, and we will ask them tomorrow and get back to you!

HI IronButterfly! We've just received some info from the Chile Pepper Institute!
1. Heirloom type or Hybrids? They are both open pollinated cultivars
2. How long can the seeds be stored and still be viable later? As long as they are stored in an airtight container in a cool place they can last up to 5 years witht he same germination rates
3. Will I be able to get seeds from future harvests to plant again at another time? If you isolate the plants that you wish to save seeds from you will get true seeds, if you plant them together outside you will get crossed seeds

Hi Cindi! We only have the 2 seed options at this time, but you should REALLY try the Nu Mex Big Jim Heritage. They are EXTREMELY HOT on the Scoville Scale! |
