Many or the purification tablets out there contain some percentage of chlorine and a few have a flocculating agent*. They are intended for short term use not constant usage. When used it is best to wait up to 30 minutes before drinking the water. To help improve the water's taste pass the water between two glasses a few times. It helps to aerate =the water and reduces any chlorine odor that may result from the use of the tablets.

My experience is that there is still a "chemical" flavor that - while I could live with it in an emergency - is not that pleasant to me to taste.
