 OFFLINE | Recently some of us were discussing the topic of legalizing Marijuana here. Actually we've talked about it a number of times and some have compared the idea to Prohibition back in the pre-War years in our country.
I was wondering if any of you were watching the new Ken Burns film on Prohibition? Its airing on PBS. Its a 3 part (5 1/2 hrs) film and I think its is fascinating.
I love the period of American history from the 20s through...oh the late 50s. I liked the fashion, the architecture, the movies (ok, I hate the music). But this films is so interesting to me. It goes into why prohibition began, the problems they had enforcing it, how it affected society, and what led to its repeal.
