If the Curaderm BEC5 product has been exposed to temperatures above 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius) during shipment or by other means, the cream may have separated. This can easily be tested by shaking the tube, if a liquid can be heard then the cream has separated. The cream must then be reconstituted, which is done by the following procedure:
Procedure for reconstituting Curaderm BEC5 cream
1.  Place the unopened tube in a pot of hot water that is at least 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees Celsius) for 10 minutes; hot tap water is usually ok.
2.  Remove the tube from the hot water and shake it vigorously for 1 minute (a liquid sound will be heard).
3.  Place the tube immediately in the freezer for at least 10 minutes, but not more than 20 minutes.
4.  Remove the tube from the freezer and store in the refrigerator.
5.  The product is now a cream and no liquid sound can be heard if shaken. The product will then be activated 100% and have the shelf life as stated on the cream.
