OFFLINE | In this part of the forum, decide what structure you want for the pinterest document - what do you want in it ? what areas should you cover? what easy topics can you begin with and what more advanced ones can you put on the back burner?
Starting with the low hanging fruit like 'how to open an account' will help to get you started. Then between yourself as a team you can decide on the meaty topics to cover and discuss them as you go along. |

OFFLINE | I would like to get to the point of setup and working and using a strategy, then work from that point.
I have never used pinterest so I wold ilke to gather as much information as possible and be able to work through it and find pitfalls and find solutions to those pitfalls |

OFFLINE | I have already sort of written one of these from another site I worked for, I can probably get this to use to start with if we like |

OFFLINE | Hi Glyn, Mike, John and others yet to slide into this discussion.
John, sounds great idea for us to see what you have, as it may save some time in assembling a framework at the very least.
Glyn has suggested Google Hangouts, does anyone have experience setting one up, or prefer anything different?
I am generally a fairly private person, do not use Facebook for personal life hence the moniker of Bare Foot. My name is Patrick :-)
I wrote a somewhat lengthier post, but it got lost in Facebook, so this is the truncated version! Tried twice, in Safari, maybe that is the problem . . . if this appears then I'm right as this is using Firefox. |

OFFLINE | I subscribed to this topic yesterday, so that I would get notifications when anyone else posted. It appears to have some gremlins, as it failed to alert me to Francesco's post and the subscribe returned to unsubscribed. Anyone else tried it and had success?
Should we start by taking the first step and setting a date for the completion of the initial Pinterest document. Glyn has asked for a 4 week maximum, which seems very reasonable. I presume we all have enough to keep ourselves occupied without having to do this, but somehow we forgot that when raising our hands! Helen excepted of course - you were wise enough to mention your imminent move :-)
I guess that all of us and those others in the Evergreen group would like to have this tomorrow, so we can put the plans into action now, a month seems a long time away when you are waiting for something, not long enough when you're having to create the product!
Date? Wednesday, 10th September . . . that is 2014, not 2015. If we are able to do so, I think that earlier would be even better. |

OFFLINE | This forum thing is sketchy at best, but it is a current means.
Are there any ideas on what we could do that is better? |

I just wanted to chip in and question the use of automation tools, I have been studying pinterest and those with really successful boards have put thought into their boards, they are focused on a specific, I just feel automation can't achieve this same level of success.
Would be interested on similar thoughts on this. Perhaps I am wrong. |

OFFLINE | One area Glyn, I think needs covering and it does not need to be a big area, is to highlight that boards need to focused around a specific of interest, I think too many people (including myself in the past) rush into create boards and pins centred on their own products, successful boards are carefully thought out and include pins from a multitude of sources related to the interest.
Pinterest is a social platform just like facebook.
On a similar note I have hard of people running into problems with pinterest if they have too many links going back to their site or store for example. |

OFFLINE | Hey guys, dont forget you can create topics in each part of the forum - for example you can start one called 'automation' one called 'best practice - board setup' etc |

OFFLINE | I think what we need to do here is get the first steps sorted, which is to arrange how/where we interact - will it be Google Hangouts, or something else. As I understand it, Glyn will be around here, but we are the ones who have to get it all together. We also have to get the framework of what we are intending to present in the finished 'product' - for sale as a WSO :-) Suggesting topics to cover in this thread, while we move towards these first steps, would get us sharing ideas.
Automation for example is something I feel we should cover. Personally I do not like automating on Pinterest, as I think it counters what we are trying to achieve, which is get users to like our pins and not see us as spammers . . . which we aren't! However, maybe there are useable advantages that I am unaware of, or maybe we end up explaining why others in Evergreen should not automate, or what the risks are by doing so. |

 OFFLINE | Hi Guys,
Here is the link to the eBook I wrote many, many moons ago - there is a section on Pinterest at the end. It will certainly help the complete noobs and may be a good starting block.
I used to give this away on my blog for the subs and people starting a blog but the principles are still the same really, even for ecommerce stuff.
As with everything in social media though, people must realise that building up a following can take time. However there are tricks to kickstart this.
Anyway, its here if people want it.

Glyn - put it in the group if you want. I am unsure if it is suitable..... |

OFFLINE | hey guys I would love to be contributing more, however on mobile (like I am most of the time especially during daylight hours US TIME) this forums thing is buggy and glicthy and choppy and rickety.
I will contribute when I can and how I can but it will be in various times and probably a little patterned. |

OFFLINE | Mike, I'm having difficulty even on desktop, so the sooner we sort something else out the better.
Here are some possible venues for us to use. I am not commenting about them, but after looking through them all, for the moment I'm inclined to think that slack.com could be good and talky.io for an impromptu discussion. I think it unlikely that we would ever need to come together as a talking group at one time.
