I received a call last night from my son Josh. It was so great to hear his voice - hoarse as it was. Wow, really makes me miss him.

Mary I just heard from my son tonight.  He was very hoarse too!  He actually came down with pneumonia right after he got there so I'm wondering if he ever got fully recovered.  He is strong, they all are and it was awesome to hear his voice

How long have your sons been there to be able to call home? I'm looking forward to our 2nd phone call also

Julie, I hope that your son did recover. I can't imagine going thru the training being sick like that. I didn't sleep that night I was so excited to have heard his voice. I went over and over the conversation in my head and thought about all the things I didn't have time to ask or tell him. Do you you know how often the actually get mail? I think someone told me they only get it on Sundays.
Charlotte, they are starting week 4. According to the last letter I got from Josh he said they have competitions between their squads and his squad won and the special privilege they got was a phone call home. Hope he wins more of them. How long has your son been in?
Julie - as I'm typing this I'm wondering if your son and mine are in the same squad????? What is your son's name? I will ask Josh in my next letter.

It is great to be able to visit with other moms and to know that I am not the only one missing my boy who is going to come home not only a man but a Marine. WOW. Lets stay in touch ladies, we have a ways to go. I am getting ready to mail josh some beef jerky and a letter I will ask if he knows your boys.
