In a renovated Craftsman house on Seattle’s Phinney Ridge, Empty Sea Studios presents acoustic music as it’s meant to be heard.



Equipped with a top-notch PA, acoustic treatment, theatrical lighting and a hand-built mahogany stage, this multi-use space functions actively as a recording studio, teaching space for owner and multi-instrumentalist Michael Connolly and others, and as a concert venue for intimate acoustic performances.

Since opening in May of 2009, Empty Sea has presented near-weekly concerts of acoustic music featuring musicians from five continents.  Our commitment to transparent, pristine sound reinforcement and an intentional listening environment has attracted a host of artists, including Mike Compton, David Grier, John Doyle, Dirk Powell, Kelly Joe Phelps, Mirah, Danny Schmidt, Jonathan Byrd, Pt. Vikash Maharaj, Kevin Burke, and many others.
