OFFLINE | I am already a 4th year student but I am still curious why there's a need for a laptop permit when there's no need for a PSP (Play Station Portable) permit? Why do we have to process a permit for digital camera but were not processing a permit for cellphones with camera? Are there some essential differences among those devices that made some of them be required to have permits? I heard from some AdU campus persons that the reason for the permit is to control the number of students who will use the University's electricity because of charging electronic devices; according to them, using the electricity for charging electronic devices is not included in the Tuition Fee. Aside from this, one of the reason also for the permit is for the safety of the students. When some equipments was lost, how secure can that be when checking of students' bag are done only before entering the campus and not when the students are going out. Moreover, not every corner of the students' bag can be checked by guards specially during rush times. Are the reasons I mentioned the real reasons why we have to process permits for some devices? I am curious because in some schools, there are no need for those permits. Even visitors who have such equipments like laptop, guitar, or digital camera can enter the campus. So why there's a need for AdU students to process equipments permits?
I already longed asking these questions but I don't know who's the right, exact, or proper person to ask. Is there a particular person or place where I can go and specifically ask or raise some concerns about the school where I can also get a full/complete or polite answers? I admit that I am already old enough to ask these kind of questions and also, I am already at my last year of staying in the University. I just want to help other students who may also have these kind of questions that I have. I'm sharing this because it's not only me who have this kind of questions based on the AdU persons whom I have talked with. Before asking these, I am looking for some guidelines in the student manual but nothing is indicated there about processing permits. I wish before that some specific guidelines that students should know about their University must be indicated in the Student's Manual. It's a "MANUAL" after all. So a manual or guide should be specific. I hope to deliver the intended meaning of this message. |
