OFFLINE | Next Sunday there's a referendum in Italy, about the offshore oil and gas drilling: http://www.lifeinitaly.com/news/factbox-april-17-offshore-oil-drilling-referendum
Some people are in favor of these drilling platforms, others are not; everyone has its own opinion, I'm not questioning this.
But when a politician says "Don't go to vote, we need these platforms, otherwise we've got to buy the oil", is it really for the sake of Italy that they're talking or for their own economic interest?

OFFLINE | Well I heard about both sides. This platforms are dangerous and they could cause e large environmental damage. But on the other side the platforms are already built, terminating them would mean build new one somewhere else that causes pollution somewhere else - Also oil tankers will start approaching Italian port again with another danger there too. In any case the best solution is to concentrate in renewable energy. |
