OFFLINE | I look at the "tracks" section of this forum. I think its safe to say that in Ontario the Offroad side might be a little over saturated. Do you think this helps or hurts racing in general? I say hurts because of the dilution that happens. |
................ Can't beat them jo... nah, you can always beat them.

OFFLINE | I bet you had no idea there were so many tracks...
I agree more tracks does thin on the herd, but the tracks are not going to close in order to fix our problem.
What can be fixed is more communication, organization and coordination between the tracks and the racers.
I feel that too often racers and tracks only want the numbers at their own track and only concern themselves with their own track or their own interests. We are a community that must support ourselves as a whole...and work harder to promote inside and out of our hobby to encourage more involvement and greater numbers.
The local hobby shops (LHS) have to play a role in the survival of racing as well. Unfortunately it is not beneficial for them. A hobby shop will make 10 times more from a non-racer (basher) as the racers in Ontario seem to be focused on sponsorship and thus buy direct or from less expensive online stores. We should support a practice of buying in Canada. I know I can save a buck buying online, but if I don't support my LHS where will I go if I "need it now". I'm happy to spend an extra $5 or $10 to help them pay their bills.
I know this has been said before, but something has to change in Ontario. We can do more than we are and we can do what we are doing better.
