 OFFLINE | i think the simplest way to put it, is that we talk about promoting liberty and freedom around the world, but all we're really interested in is stability. and this isn't something exclusive to the u.s. either. but we'd rather have a stable "friendly" dictator, than a democracy, WITH THE CHANCE that the people of a given nation will choose not to be so friendly. we only support democracy when it suits us. |

 OFFLINE | As of today, the Egyptian army is rounding up foreign correspondents and camera crews. Yesterday govt supporters (ie...the plans clothes police that ran away a few days ago), began using machetes and molotov cocktails against the protesters.
I have a feeling that now that foreign news agencies are being removed, the govt is about to really crack heads. Looks like its really gonna get brutal. |
