It;s been 2 weeks now, but still i have not heard from my son yet. I got a letter from the SDI with the address, but that's all. I miss you son very much. I wish they would post some updates on the progress of Echo Co. Platoon 2110. I would be very very thankful.

My son shipped on June 20th and we finally got an actual letter on Friday July 8th.
Hang in there, write and send letters to your recruit often.
Patience is a virtue they say, that does not pertain to a Mom of a Marine Recruit!

I agree Kristine, i know i'm not alone in this road, thousands of parents are feeling the same way too. But i guess it's really different when you are a mom. Everyday feels like a year of waiting for any news from him. Thanks for the MarineParentsnetwork, at least i am able to relate with other parents whose sons are there...

As of this date, letters had been coming from my son. Makes me feel worried though, he said he doesn't like it there i guess because of the constant yelling and the training. But he said he will try his best to finish it. he's been asking for us to sent him Powerbars and beef jerky though. he also said that they can't even finish a full meal since they are always in a hurry...
