OFFLINE | Some of my earlier works need serious adjustments. Somethings I can't fix but what I can do is make the sound richer.
I need help finding out what I should adjust to fix these songs.

OFFLINE | Listening to one of your tracks now. Probably the one thing I can say is bring your kick out some more on Band DI. Use more reverb on your piano, turn down the claps and the snare a bit on Emerging. If you are not using compression, use it on Emerging, this will help give the other instruments more space to breathe in the mix. The one thing to keep in mind is that your melody, and drums should be clearly heard. Snares and Kicks will be the loudest parts of the drum so they don't need to be TOO loud but they are also the driving force for the track so they do need to cut through. Compression can help on that front. Your bass gives the song some bottom and fills out the mix. Usually this could be on a mono channel (I put mine in stereo, more filling for me.), so it doesn't need to cut through as much. So in essence, if you can't hear everything in the mix, then some stuff either needs be turned down, turned up or compressed.
For some more good tips about mixing and mastering, check out the other post on this topic. There's a website there that I believe will help you out quite a bit. |

OFFLINE | LOL, I thought the kick on Ban Di was loud enough. Maybe it's my speakers (which would probably be the case for all of these songs, because I used different speakers for most of them.)
Should the compression be used after the mixdown or before?
Also, are those the only two that need adjustments with drums and everything? How about Conclusive, Diverge and In My Mind? I've went through mixing Diverge several times, actually. But something doesn't seem right (besides the main snare and that 'woop' sound at 2:00). |

OFFLINE | My bad i'm just now replying to this. Compression should happen before the mix down, though you should use a limiter to bring the entire mix back up without clipping. Because of dithering, compression is going to happen regardless, but it makes sense for the mix to sit well before the mix down of everything. I haven't really had time to listen to all the others yet. I will let you know more once I get around to listening to them. |

OFFLINE | Compression before mixing (what I've been doing already, just not as accurately adjusted), got it.
Okay cool. I'm probably going to release the album once I collect all this info and make use of it. |
