River of Times series was the first YA books I have read.  Thank You Lisa for giving us a wonderful series and people to care about and they care about others.  The first 4 books have been read 7 times because I fell in love with Gabi and Marcello. I never thought Lia would discuss a blue dress with Luca!  

At first I didn't care for Lia, she seemed like a snob.  When you started writing from her perspective it was nice to see how she felt about taking "care of" Gabi and all the fighting and of killing those men.

I fell in love with Marcello and Luca..wish they were real...perfect gentleman.  I'm glad they didn't push Gabi or Lia to do anything before marriage.  Some books I have read in medieval times the man pushes the woman to "lie" with him before marriage.

I felt bad for Greco and the way he felt about Gabi and continued to feel about her even after he found Alessandra.  I too was very upset when he died because every time he was rejected or put down by others I just wanted to wrap my arms around him and hold him...the night Luca put him in the stockade and it was pouring down rain

I really liked Deluge...I too read it in one night.  I can't say I loved it like the others.  I thought with the final book that there would be more from Gabi's since the first 2 books were written from her view.  To me the books were about her.  Yes they all grew up, had too, but how did she feel now that she was married, Lady of the castle, mother and trying to keep everyone alive.  Marcello started drinking...that should have been discussed between her and him.  Her dad died, again, we didn't get to feel any emotion from her.

Lia's depression after the baby was wonderful.  Teenage girl having a baby, losing her dad, it's rough and I "felt" what she was going through.

I will re-read the series again and again and continue recommending the books to everyone...because I need Marcello

Totally in there with you! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who missed Gabi a bit. I was happy she came back into the picture some in Deluge, but I also felt like the River of Time was truly meant to be about her and Marcello, not Lia and Luca. They were a cute subplot, but I wasn't thrilled when they became the focus in the later books. Loved the series as a whole, though!
