Capt. Owen Honors (my old squadron CO) was relieved of command of USS Enterprise after some inappropriate videos were released on the ships television system. I was outraged to hear this. I knew him personally and is a good man. The videos contained comedic performances, but were anti PC compared to todays media. MAN there are a lot of sensitive people these days.

you just can't do stuff like that these days. i'm sure his intentions were harmless, but you have to understand the culture we're living in now. in a traditional military culture, what he did is fine, but even the military has been permeated with PC views, and all it takes is one person saying something, and the brass will feel compelled to act.

Was that YOUR Co?  Man, that stuff has been all over the news lately.  I agree with ya though.  The Enterprise probably lost a fine commander due to PC bullsh*t.

Most likely this was the only offense the man had.  But instead of a reprimand...he loses his entire command.

Its another case of 'outsiders' imposing their views and will on an organization most know nothing about.

Yeah he was my old CO. He was a Cmdr back then. These videos were made back in 06. They didn't become a problem until the Virginia Pilot media found them somewhere. I'm sure also that Adm Harvey didn't care either. He just removed him from his command because that's what he was expected to do.

Yeah...and unfortunately we probably lost an able commander in the fleet because of political correctness.
