Hi Guys,

Just passing on some info about another group I belong to who are running a poetry competition about midlife if you are interested. prize is £100 (or equivalent in other currencies) Amazon vouchers and a copy of the poetry guide The Ode Less Travelled. You do need to join activagers (social network for the over forties) but it's all free. Can be limmericks, haiku or 'proper poetry'!
Link to comp is here http://ow.ly/4IHeD

Infinitely curious about life after 40. I'm always interested in meeting new people so feel free to add me but do say that you are from here!

Numbers are meaningless.  Statistics are lies.  I refuse to believe this now is 'midlife'.   ppbbbbt

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming... "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Statistically-speaking, I will not reach mid-life until my waist size catches up with my age.

And I won't be old until my IQ becomes the lesser of all.

This seems like fun to me. But I've somewhat competed in online writing and didn't enjoy it and I'm not sure I'm interested in returning to it. However, writing about human midlife seems like an endless field of opportunity. This makes me wonder if a co-author idea would be doable, particularly with one writer being a non-parent, and the other being a parent.

An attractive young lady I work with is suddenly wearing men's ties. Would that be an indication of a quarter-life crisis?
