Description:
The Department of Writing and Linguistics seeks a qualified candidate for a two-semester internship. The Media Intern will be responsible for drafting, revising, and editing many of the written interdepartmental and promotional materials. Responsibilities of this intern may include, but will not be limited to, the following:

1.     Composing, updating, editing, and/or proofreading departmental promotional materials;
2.     Gathering information from Writing & Linguistics faculty and composing departmental newsletter;
3.     Maintaining the Writing &Linguistics Website;
4.     Creating and maintaining a Writing & Linguistics Facebook page;
5.     Serving as Assistant Editor for Fledge Online, the publication of outstanding first-year writing;
6.     Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with exceptional writing skills and a keen awareness of audience. Applicants should be deadline-driven and detail-oriented, with an eye for proofreading and editing. This individual will have strong organizational skills and must be able to work well independently and as part of a group. Familiarity with MS Publisher not required, but preferred.

Credit Hours:
This is an unpaid internship; however, the selected candidate may receive up to three (3) hours of credit (WRIT 4790) in each semester of the internship. The selected candidate should be prepared to commit 5 hours a week to the position. Schedule is flexible, and must be agreed upon by the internship supervisor.
