Hello from the velcro kitties!! These little ones are Lela's kittens hanging out together. They are 8 weeks old and will be previewing their  glam shotswithin the next 2 weeks. As you can see, they are very "attached"  to each other!

We are in need of Puppy Fosters ASAP!  It's Puppy Season and the shelter is full of puppies that we need to save!

Fostering puppies requires having a flexible or "at-home" schedule since they can not be left for long periods of time. Fosters must be willing to get puppies to vet appointments for vaccines and be able to properly socialize and teach beginner manners!  (No training necessary - just a big heart and patience!)

This is a MAJOR NEED right night, so please help if you can?  Click the picture above to become a foster and if you are already a foster, email [EMAIL=http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/foster@pawsinthecity.org]the Foster Team and let us know you can help!

We are in need of wire crates for events and for our fosters.  If you have one you can donate, please bring to one of our events or [EMAIL=http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/info@pawsinthecity.org]Email us!

If you are a foster and you have a crate of ours - wire or plastic that you are not using - please bring to one of our upcoming events!

If you know of any rescues/trainers/ect. going out of business and have wire crates that are low cost, please [EMAIL=http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/info@pawsinthecity.org]email us!

Lastly, if you want to purchase a crate for us, visit our Amazon Wish List!

Dexter was found as a little kitten on a Lakewood golf course. He was always pretty spectacular and loved dogs like no other! Thank you to Vhea's LaundroMutt and Nashla for fostering this sweet boy!

Dexter was adopted for his 1st birthday! His new adopters say:

The picture is him and his new big sis, his mom said they lick and play all day. She said the sack in the background is his new favorite play toy.

The picture above is his other new sis!

How Adorable? Happy Tails!

I NEED A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!

A small guy with a big heart, Scooter is in need of a permanent foster. He needs someonewilling to be consistent and strong to reinforce his boot camp training. He is about 2 and a half years old and is dog and people-friendly.
[EMAIL=http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/stephanie@pawsinthecity.org]Can[EMAIL=http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/stephanie@pawsinthecity.org] Scooter sincerely be yours?

I NEED A FOSTER OR FOREVER  HOME!!

Tess is a 2 year old Dobe mix who was a HW + VSP at DAS that we pulled on her due out day.  She was treated for Heartworms but now has no calm place to recover in!  Tess is dog friendly and appears to be housebroken.  She is kid friendly and does NOT love kitties!  She needs to be on strict crate/bed rest for 4 weeks with low activity.  A home with no dogs or really calm dog(s) would be ideal for Tess.  She needs foster IMMEDIATELY so please contact us if you can help
[EMAIL=http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/stephanie@pawsinthecity.org]Can Tess stay temporarily?

I NEED A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!

Jezzabelle is a pretty one-year-old black and tan Shepherd mix who needs a foster home.  She is dog friendly and only about 30 lbs.  She needs some manners and she'll be the perfect sidekick! Jezzabelle has some chemical burn or road rash on her hind quarter (POOR GIRL) but she's healing day by day and no special care is required.
[EMAIL=http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/stephanie@pawsinthecity.org]Can Jezzabelle be your belle?

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Event Set-Up Volunteers:
There's a lot of equipment that goes into setting up for PITC adoption event, and it all needs to be transported from storage to the event location and back again.Supervolunteer Mark Verma has been doing all the "heavy lifting" on this job by himself, and he needs a sidekick or two who can carry some of the load.If you have some time to spare a couple of days out of the month as well as a truck or SUV, let us know!The kind of equipment we're talking about includes crates, the portable tent, a couple of T-shirt boxes, etc.Nothing too heavy or daunting, but it does require a vehicle with some cargo space.Let [EMAIL=http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/laura@pawsinthecity.org]Laura know if you're up for this job.

Adoption Screeners & Adoption Close Out:
We are in need of volunteers to do vet checks and phone interviews with adoption applicants.  This person needs a phone.  We need volunteers to close out and finalize adoptions.  This person needs a computer. [EMAIL=http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/laura@pawsinthecity.org]Email Laura

Pet Profile Coordinator:
This volunteer would be responsible for ensuring all pets in our organization had a profile and temporary photos (photos provided by foster until professional ones can be taken). This would involve reaching out to the foster parent for the pet after the pet is placed in the home to gather helpful adoption information for writing a profile and better photos of the animal.  The volunteer would edit photos sent in (basic cropping/enhance photo) if needed and post to our databases. This volunteer would distribute the information needed to write the profile for that animal to one of the profile writers currently on hand or the foster may write the profile themselves.  Volunteer would upload the profiles to our databases once received (we ask for 24 hour turnaround on profiles).  Profiles may need to be edited after the foster learns more about the animal so the Coordinator would be responsible for reading through the profiles to see if there could possibly be updates.This volunteer would continue to recruit those who like creative writing to ensure no one volunteer has too much work writing profiles.  This volunteer may write a few profiles him/herself as well.

Newsletter Editors:
  Do you like editing photos?  Do you like to write creatively?  Are you in the know or able to communicate with those that are?  Then we could use your help with our Newsletter!  We use Constant Contact and putting together the newsletter could easily be a 2 person job! We currently need a second, possibly third, to help edit and maybe do a little design so we captivate readers and ultimately save lives with our Newsletter.

Please contact [EMAIL=http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/laura@pawsinthecity.org]Human Resources if you are interested in the above positions.  You may also view our website to learn about more volunteer opportunities or sign up there.
