OFFLINE | I know many stock up yearly firewood but how many have thought of storing up dimensional lumber? If a tornado, hurricane, blizzard or wind storm hits, causing damage to your home, how will you make temporary repairs or even build a temporary shelter. Are you sure you will be able to get lumber at your local lumber yard? Will they raise prices (despite the fact that is illegal), because everyone else will be heading there as well. What if it happens in the middle of the night when these stores are closed? Stocking up on 2X4's 4X4's sheets of plywood (1/2 & 3/4), pressure treated 4X4's & 4X6's. Even going as far down as 1X2's for furring strips to tack tarps down. How about nails, you need something to put the wood together, 2" ring shanks, 10d & 16d. Maybe screws ranging from 1 1/4" to 4" in length. Just something to think about if you haven't already. |
