OFFLINE | To Cari, I have to admit I have not heard of either. To Emadur: Sounds great! |

I've heard of Bentley Little (haven't read any of his work), but I'm not familiar with Lumley. Perhaps I'll check them out somewhere down the line.
The next two books on my 'to read' list are Carrion Comfort and Swan Song. I'm reluctant to start a book series right now, partly because I've just finished The Dark Tower series a month ago, also I don't have as much free time. I might start on The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant series next year though. |

OFFLINE | I take it those two are a book sereis, or part of? Or are they just stand-alone novels? |

They're two stand alone novels; Carrion Comfort by Dan Simmons and Swan Song by Robert McCammon, but they're both pretty long. |

OFFLINE | I see the Carrion Comfort book is about 600+ pages, not that I haven't tackled large novels. The unedited version of the Stephen King novel "The Stand" was over 1,000 pages, and well worth it. |

OFFLINE | Whatever you do, don't pick up Clive Barker's "Mister B. Gone." His early stuff is fine. But, I'm warning you, don't read that book. |

What's wrong with it? Or should I even ask? |

I'm not at all a horror connoisseur but i couldn't stand it from the opening chapter. Here's an excerpt and he keeps this up all throughout the book. I found it severely annoying.
"Go on. Quickly, while there's still time. Burn it. Don't look at another word. Did you hear me? Not. One. More. Word.
Why are you waiting? It's not that difficult. Just stop reading and burn the book. It's for your own good, believe me...." |

OFFLINE | I have read some Stephen King books which were great. Some of his sucked.
I do like John Saul though. |
