Hello,
I had Linia PIPs in 2006, had them out in 2010 as both ruptured and lymph node in my armpit taken out too. I did not have the removal done at Linia.
Linia offered to carry out the removal under local aneasthetic, I hope they are still not offering this option as I would think it not very ethical. Nor would they have removed the contaminated lymph node which I again did not want left in my body.

Have they changed their thoughts now?
How are any other Linia patients getting on?

I am with Hugh James solicitors.

Hi,
I also had pips with linia in 2006, i found a lump in 2009, i had terrible trouble getting all my information from them and it wasn't until 2010 (10 months later) they confirmed i had pips. They wanted to remove/replace mine under local too !! at a cost of £2,500.
Initially i considered using them again, but didn't as the final straw was they said under no circumstances could i retain my old pips, they said they were clinical waste !!
I was disgusted at the way they treated me !
I am using Hugh James too..

Similar to me then Justine
Anyone been to Linia in last month?
Girls if you had PIPs from Linia please confirm on here and whether yours are ruptured and how you are getting on re GP's or Linia?

You have a legal right to demand your PIPS back-Hugh James have a letter to confirm this and they will take legal action to ensure you get them back. They are not clinical waste.

Hi Ladies,

I had pips from Linia, in Huntingdon. I saw Mr Aslam on Tuesday - I am going ahead with removal and replacement. He said I would be called back the next day to book me and fill me on cost etc, and I have still not had the call! Very frustrating. He has said the operation will be under local anasthetic because there is a better recovery time... i don't react too well to generals so I am ok with this although will be having vallium too as I don't want to be aware of what is going on!! I mentioned to Mr Aslam that I wish to keep my pips after the removal op, he said this is fine they are mine! However he did then say but if they are ruptured they have to go in the clinical waste! To which I explained that I wanted them anyway, unless there is nothing left of them. He seemed a bit surprised, but did then explain that if I ask the lady who calls to book me in she will be able to send me a disclaimer form to enable me to keep the pips whether ruptured or not. Aparently ruptured implants are clinical waste and they can't hand them over without the disclaimer - not sure if this is true though! I will be requesting the form, sending it off in advance of the op, and then taking annother copy in on the op day so they can't fob me off! I won't leave without them!

I too had mine done at Linia in 2006. Its quite a lonely place to be with only a few of us.

Hi Debbie,

I had Linia PIP implants in, in 2006 also - and although i haven't had them out (yet) they have caused me nothing but trouble. They cant see me until March apparently and wont actually discuss helping me have them taken out until they have seen me. Total joke. Will definitely be consulting a solicitor!
