Ok ladies my "daughter"/girlfriend AND Lynette both have a son and a husband in Plt. 2161 and they BOTH received PHONE CALLS yesterday (Friday) between 4:30 and 5:00 P.M..............These phone calls had to be paid for by the recruits....(Phone Card) and for Sarah hers lasted about 10 minutes and for Lynette hers lasted about 5 minutes........I was told that they are making these Phone calls to remind families about Family Day and Graduation!!!!!!~ AS IF WE NEED REMINDING!!!!!!!!! So if this is something that all the Plt.'s are doing they might be going in order......so if no phone calls this weekend they may take place during the week............PLEASE KEEP YOUR PHONES ON YOU AT ALL TIMES!!!!!!!! AND LOOK FOR A 619 Area Code calling you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!! To hear our boys voices!!!!!!!!! *melting*.............I am even more anxious now!!!!!!!!!!! I will be keeping my fingers crossed that WE ALL get a phone call!!!!!!! I will be sure to let ALL of you know if I do!!!!!!!!! Also a reminder.....Final Drill is on Monday and there should be pictures posted on the MCCS MCRD San Diego FB Wall sometime Monday afternoon!!!!!!!!! This might be the chance to get a glimpse of our guys as well!!!!!!!!! Friday is when the Platoon video will be posted on devildogs.com sometime around 6 P.M. PST........Not only will we see our guys but we might see if they made Honor Platoon as well!!!!!!!!!!! So get ready ladies!!!!!!!!!!! This could turn out to be a very exciting week for us all!!!!!!!!! Until we meet again~ Oorraahh Plt. 2166

AH! HOW EXCITING!! Thank you so much for letting us know Apryl!!! I hope he can make two calls, one to his family and one to me since it'll be close to my birthday, what an AMAZING present that would be!! On the MCCS MCRD FB page there were a bunch of comments from family members about PLT 2161 getting phone calls because they received the highest score overall at the shooting range. No one else has said anything about any other platoons :/ But family should still be getting a call after the Crucible, apparently to make travel plans and what not final. Still, I hope we get calls very soon. I can't wait for pictures on Monday!! They better be close-ups!! :] Hope you all had a wonderful Saturday!

Hmmmm that is very interesting Amanda, because I was told that Plt. 2166 actually had the highest average out of all the platoons...... Very interesting. Lynette nor Sarah said anything about John or Zach saying something about them calling because they had the highest score for qualifying.......Something "fishy" going on there!!!!! :: ............Well we shall see......just thought I would put it out there for us all to be on the safe side as I wouldn't want anyone to MISS A CALL!!!!!!!!!!! Well hello GF's...sorry I've been preoccupied the last two days...my mind seems scattered everywhere!!! Aaron said that Plt 2166 got 3rd place overall in firing range, so I guess we might have to wait for the phone call for travel plans unless we kick ass in something else like final drill or final PFT!! I just want to hear my son's voice whatever the reason!!

Hope all the fathers are enjoying your special day...my hunny got a professional pressure washer today as he wanted! Now to put him to work!! JOKING!!

Brenda scattered is an understatement!!!!!!!!!! ::.....I've been scattered all weekend..........I was in Chowchilla moving furniture out of my grandmas house who passed away LAST MAY (2010) and hauling some of it back to my house in Merced for the greater part of yesterday..............Talk about CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whew....I was so freakin tired last night by the time I got all of this stuff put away etc.......I think I just melted into my bed!!!!!!!! ::.......Well 3rd is better than last and I hope we still ended up with the highest average!!!
Hmmmmm, so if they are calling in order of how they placed maybe we will get a call Monday or Tuesday????????? Im with you Brenda......I just want to hear my sons VOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope he purchased a calling card that had a lot of minutes on it!!!!!!!

I saw a post somewhere that 2163 took the Honor Platoon position.    How bad is that?  LOL

Zack said the call was to confirm Family Day and graduation plans. He didn't say anything about winning anything. And honestly I don't care anymore!   I just want to see him!  No matter the score, all of them did way better than I could ever dream of! I would have peed myself the very first time I got yelled at!!  

Tomorrow is their written final!  So I am sending out postive vibes for all our boys!!!!  Ooh-rah!!!!!!! Our boys ROCK!!

Haha Lynette I totally agree with you about the being yelled at part, I could definitely not handle that as well as our guys obviously have, I've never been a fan of yelling.
And yes! It totally sucks that 2163 pulled ahead! Oh well, like you said I'm still so very proud of our guys for making it through this far, it's an unbelievable feat and I'm so happy for them that they're so close to finishing, I can only imagine the amount of pride they must have in themselves and one another :]
Ditto on the sending of positive vibes! Let's go 2166 and 2161!!!!

You know what I think of Plt. *bankety blank* ........ Minus the smile that appears with that!!!!!!!!! ::........Whatever.....I am with you on this one Lynette....at this point all I want to do is see Marquis and wrap my arms around him and give him a HUGE LOING TIGHT HUG!!!!!!!!!!!! If we get a call we get a call...if not oh well.....Im not holding my breath anymore.....but I do still have my phone on loud and right next to me!!!!!!! ::........you never know.... GOOD LUCK Plt. 2166 and 2161 in FINAL EXAMS TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you were fed properly and had plenty of rest so that you are all prepared and pass with flying colors!!!!!! All you ladies, I'm right there with ya'll!!! Final Drill is over and who cares who took what!!! We are all so proud of our guys and all of us are rooting for them to do great on final MCMAP test! The same goes for the rest of their journey!!! We are getting so close ladies!!!! I'll see some of you in 15 days, and the rest in 16 days ready the give you all a great big hug!!
