well i could say the same thing, and ask why obama and the democrats opposed an increase the last time when bush was in office?

as for this time, serious republicans understand that we have to raise the limit again, but they're not going to do it on obama's terms of a "grand bargain" particularly when obama hasn't even laid out a detailed plan. the republicans simply want to cut an equal amount to the amount the debt ceiling will be increased. if that's not fair, i don't know what is. and even obama has shown grudging support for a smaller deal, which likely realizes is the best he's going to get. all these theatrics are just that, theatrics.

that has absolutely no bearing on the serious political issues of the day. in fact, the only time i EVER hear obama's race mentioned, is when liberals do it. this may be because the left views conservatives as nothing but racists, but that's bologna. in fact, remember harry reid saying obama was a "clean negro?" funny how that got a pass.
