Or does anybody else have chronic trouble with their weed whackers? |

OFFLINE | i've always had problems with weed whackers. they either string out too much line, or you have to make it where they don't string out any line, and then you have to keep stopping to let some out. |

OFFLINE | I am rebuilding mine this weekend...
Took it apart to clean carb and noticed all gas lines are shot so need to pick some new hoses up
being a 2 cycle engine the carb tends to get gunked up making it run poorly or not at all
also if you have the wrong oil to gas mixture it will make them run poorly too
If you don't feel like buying a new one every so often youtubed, "Trimmer Repair"
not that hard to do even for a novice |

OFFLINE | I've also bought several, trying to find one that works right.
I rewind the spools. And the damn things never feed right.
Since I live in Florida, I'm always whacking and I tend to wear shorts when I'm whacking (I know what you're thinking Mary!). So I get a lot of "owies" from lines gone astray.

OFFLINE | I did away with those spools... they always worked lossy
mine is one line at a time (thick line) that takes about two lines per use
(more time on my end switching lines but don't have to mess with winding and jams) |

OFFLINE | I whack Ralph's weeds with his whacker. You just gotta whack a lot sometimes.

OFFLINE | Nope, I've had mine for almost six years now. Starts up the first pull every time. But then I also spent the extra money and got a commercial grade trimmer with the 4-cycle engine too. 4-cycle = no pre-mixing the fuel, no fouled sparkplugs etc.
Better bet, is to spray Roundup! |

Scott...now WHY would you think I would make a big deal out of your "whacking" Actually I've had the same one for probably 7 years....I think I'm due to get a new one....maybe a bigger, better one. I know what you mean about the spool rewinding.....it's all about making sure that you don't "cross" the lines as your winding it. I've only whacked once wearing shorts....no freaking way....had welts on my legs for way too long afterwards....no matter HOW hot...I whack with sweats/pants on! |
