Feel free to post a little something about yourself. How did you get into your love for photography? What kind of equipment do you have/use. What are your goals? What do you like to shoot?

I don't think of myself as a photographer. More like taking an interest in preserving meaningful moments by way of photographs. I suppose this fits any kind of media hobby; my interests in photography are meant to be of value to me specifically, and my appreciation of it isn't dependent on another person's acceptance or approval of it. This helps me to feel free to photograph anything that appeals to me without fearful hesitations or limits.

Probably most of what I take photos of is my cat. Also, I absolutely love nature, particularly autumn. So when the end of September and early October come around, I grab my GPS and camera and just head out. I also love taking shots of old barns and shambled houses, but not too sure why - it simply appeals to me.

I think my love for photography started a very long time ago after I realized just how quick each moment was, combined with my unwillingness to let them go. Video only has minor appeal to me, but flipping through a photo album has never lost its charm. And even though digital photography makes archiving pictures on our computer almost effortless, I still enjoy printing my favorite pictures out and making physical albums out of them.

But I cannot say as I have photograph goals. Continuity is important to me, but the idea of 'goals' doesn't really resonate with me in this regard. And my 'equipment' isn't much to brag about; it's merely a Kodak 5Mp 10x Optical Zoom cam I bought back in '04. But it serves my purposes quite well.

You do have a goal! ENJOYMENT! Not many of us here are professionals...we do it because we love to take pictures...simple as that! We sometimes see things others miss and try our best to capture it through our camera. My whole video business started from my cats, at the time! lol...those poor creatures were victim to many 'shoots'. I think it's great that you are here....we are not here to judge your photographic capabilities...nor will we discourage 'critiques' when - and only when asked for. This is only meant or a means to learn by - your personal growth is always up to you and judged by you!
And....I NEVER EVER knock anyone's euipment....my little point and shoot sometimes far exceeds my 'so-called' good camera!
