This may be an easier idea to implement for a sequel, but here goes:

Why don't fish have behavior that makes them interact?

Aggression:

- Bullying: Why would an adult (lv 5+) aggressive fish (cichlid, molly, etc) not attack smaller fish (anything lv1)?  I think if pets can be coded to "switch off" a certain behavior at level 13 or whatever, you could probably implement predatory behavior on bad fish mixes.  I am not talking about predators, but like anyone who ever put a jack dempsey cichlid in the same tank as other smaller fish knows what I mean.

- Food chain: Why don't sea turtles eat jelly fish?  Why don't jelly fish eat other fish?  Why don't anemones eat other fish? etc.  Is it possible to have a conditional predatory behavior, based on species?

Environment:

- Brackish Tanks: How about when a player sticks a bunch of saltwater and freshwater fish together, shouldn't one or the other (freshwater or marine) get sick and die?

- Anemone hosts:  Wouldn't a cardinal fish, a clown fish, or some types of damsel fish benefit from having anemone in the tank?  Oh, and why aren't anemone's considered pets?  I think they should be able to eat fish, except of course their symbiotes.

- Eating the environment:  Triggerfish munching coral reefs?  Why are parrotfish a freshwater species in-game, and why don't they also eat coral reefs?  (And I don't mean the freshwater Blood parrot cichlid which isn't really a parrot fish).  This idea could be extended to algae-eaters like plecostomus, which if present in a tank would prevent algae buildup, or auto-clean the tank (up to level 13 fish, of course, and they would cost premium currency).

- Dirty fish: Goldfish are dirty.  Wouldn't the tank need to be cleaned more often if there were goldfish in it?

Socializing:

- Isolation: Some fish are ok in isolation.

- Pairing: Other fish only do well as a pair.

- Mixed tanks: Some fish tolerate other species.

- Monoculture: Some fish only tolerate related species.

- Schooling: Still there are others that will school or even form shoals.

How about if a certain "social" condition isn't met, the fish will become aggressive or sick?  Example, update fish descriptions with "school size: 3" or something that says what is the minimum of the same species needed for 1 tank to stay healthy.

I would also like to see the following crustaceans added to pets;
- Red rock crab
- Blue crab
- Kelp crab (yellow)
- Hermit crab (which interacts with shell decorations)
- Horseshoe crab
- Trilobyte
- Mantis Shrimp
- Harlequin Shrimp

I'd rather have new fish/decorations/backgrounds than fish interacting!  Gee, one new decoration for Halloween, a "realistic" pink coffin!
