Great beginning or Cress' folly? And so begins the opening notes of a forum.
Let me begin in the most authentic way I can imagine - I have practically no idea how to get a forum started. I need to learn how - hopefully with the help of my friends -- to get this forum started. Matt already said keep it short. Okay. It'll be a struggle but.....

I say: If we want to be happy and successful we MUST be TOTALLY response-able for everything in our life and work. No blame, no victim, no fault finding. Be the opposite in fact. If we get sick - we say - I am making myself sick. If we loose our jobs we say - What did I do to contribute to being laid-off/fired? If our best friend snubs us we say - how could I have been different for him/her today.

True? Not true?

I think taking responsibility is also about not blaming ourselves - as in "why did I let this happen" or "how could I have made this happen, what's wrong with me"? It's more about taking ownership of dealing with the events and situations that come up in our lives. Staying in the present and asking ourselves "what will I choose to do now that this has happened"?

Yes blaming ourselves is a biggie, and very draining, and ironically, blaming takes away our energy away from the very things we are blaming ourselves for not doing well. I think this is where C for Compassion comes in. If we can step past our inner critique and seek to create from a place of excitement, abundance and possibility, rather than from a place of fear, scarcity - in other words stand in a place of compassion for ourselves -  we begin to create in harmony with the universe and ourselves. Way more fun, way less effort, way more creative.
