OFFLINE | 임전무퇴 (Im Jeon Mu To)
By Master Daniel R. Segarra

Im Jeon Mu To is one of the five tenets from the Knights code that often is taken is taken for granted or the practitioner waits for some dire or overwhelming personal challenge to apply, yet understanding this tenet can dramatically improve your everyday training.
Never retreat in battle is not just about large scale warfare but also MICRO battles we face everyday. Let's use a typical class for example:
Start class - getting to class on time with a proper clean uniform and presentation and you've one that battle.
Meditate - changing your attitude be it from mad to centered, sad to happy if you master your energy enough to change your attitude to a more positive one on command you've one the next battle.
Warm up & Stretch - Properly warm up and IMPROVE your stretching is another battle. Even if you progressed a 1/4 of an inch you've won the battle because those little gains add up to big successes.
Basics - Performing you basics with good discipline, motivation and focus and you've won another battle.
Self Defense, Sparring, Partner work, Breaking, Weapons if you approach each with a never give up attitude you can celebrate even the smallest successes and then you are a winner. You leave class feeling good about yourself, your class and your style.
So, Im Jeon Mu To!
